Objectives Demander sets
| Plan objective | Reddit objective | Optimises for |
|---|---|---|
| Awareness | Brand awareness | Impressions (CPM) |
| Video views | Brand awareness | Six-second video views |
| Traffic, engagement and retargeting | Clicks | Clicks (CPC) |
| Leads | Lead generation | Lead or sign-up events on your site |
| Conversions | Sales | Purchase, sign-up or lead events on your site |
Objective names follow Reddit’s migration of 21 September 2026. Reddit no longer supports its onsite lead forms, so lead objectives optimise for events on your own site.
How campaigns are built
Campaigns are created paused with campaign budget optimisation. The ad group targets countries, communities (subreddits), interests and keywords; with none of the last three it would reach everyone in the country, and Demander warns before that happens. Each ad is an image, video or text post on your business profile, promoted to the ad group.
Since 13 July 2026 Reddit requires a conversion pixel on campaigns with budget optimisation and on every ad group, so the connection needs your Reddit Pixel id. Media is handed to Reddit by URL and has to be reachable from Reddit’s servers.
Conversions and bidding
-
01
Conversions API
An account moving into sales, a new opportunity, a won deal and the conversions you mark go to Reddit every hour in live mode, with the rdt_cid click id from a consented visit or a hashed e-mail of a contact who consented.
-
02
Bids as cost caps
Reddit allows no manual bid on campaigns with budget optimisation, which Demander uses. A Demander-managed CPC or CPM bid is therefore a cost cap on the campaign, matching the objective. CPM caps stay between 3.50 and 100 USD and CPC caps at about 0.10 USD or more.

What Reddit requires
Reddit’s v3 Ads API documentation says the API is open to all developers and needs no allow-listing or approval (checked October 2026). Use falls under Reddit’s Ads API terms, and the Conversions API also under its Advertiser Measurement Program terms.
Organic posts and messages on Reddit
Organic posts to your profile or to subreddits you moderate go through a second Reddit app on the Data API, which Reddit approves separately for commercial use, and subreddit rules or spam filters can still remove a post. See organic networks.
Demander never sends Reddit messages on its own. First messages are drafts that a person sends, at most five a day per sender.
Questions people ask
Can Demander target specific subreddits?
Yes. Communities are part of the ad group targeting, next to interests and keywords, and the plan names them per persona.
Why does Reddit need our pixel id?
Reddit has required a conversion pixel on budget-optimised campaigns and on every ad group since 13 July 2026. Demander warns when the connection has none.
Which products is Reddit planned for?
The planner adds Reddit ads and organic posts for developer tools, security and analytics products, and Reddit ads for marketing and AI tools. You can add Reddit to any plan or drop it.
Does Reddit have to approve Demander?
For ads, Reddit says no approval is needed. Organic posting is separate: Reddit approves Data API access for commercial use on its own terms.
